LH Peek at the Week: Rainy frontal passage followed by cold

Well after a weekend that felt much more like late february or early march than early april, we will return to spring briefly today thru early tomorrow.  A low pressure system will work itself over the next 24 hrs up into the St. Lawrence Valley.  As it does it will push some warm air and rain trough the region.  Frontal passage should occur sometime tomorrow morning with heavier showers accompanying the front.

Once the front clears lingering snow showers are possible in the surprisingly cold airmass to follow.  Through at least thursday I’d except winter-like temps to reign in the ADK and Northern Greens with below after spring temps further south and east.  Winds might get a little naughty tuesday night -wed. am.

There is also the chance of a little surface refresher clipper working through the region wednesday evening.  Would bring like 1-3 to the north country.

For now- that’s all.

    Heavy wet snow falling right now (9am Tuesday 4/5) at 300′ in CNY. Hope more falls where it counts!

    Jay’s WS shows heavy snow coming down yesterday in photo-of-the-day. Today says picked up 3″. Figured you guys would be on it. No pics for breakfast?

      Hey, Greg, nice pics for breakfast! That’s what i’m talking about. Let’s see, this nut skied Bolton about 36 yrs ago at night for $2–included beer and bus back to school, snow was dumping, great time. Remember how the trails came in humps–a big drop, then flats, another drop, the leveled, etc., caught a lot of air and lived to tell.Thanks for the shots, had to be tough in heavy snow. Impressive.

    yea today was definitely deeper sleeper on the hills.
    keep driving away from the mountain thinking it was the last powder day and mother nature keeps surprising me.

    any news on this snow/rain disturbance coming up this weekend? Are we expecting significant elevation snow or nah?
