The Spine of Vermont

On Sunday before the current mess (but after the last) Ben, KC and I headed up to check out some of the highest terrain in Vermont; along the spine of its ancient peaks. To call it unequivocally great snow is impossible. It was loud. Was it bad? No. Sun, low winds, cold temperatures, and high speed turns for thousands of vertical feet is always good and always worth it.

KC wanted to be facing the other direction.

This should be fun. Do I spy a namesake trail?
this should be fun.

“Skiing is fun when it’s sunny, there’s a deep snowpack on the ground, and no crowds,” thought KC. A light bulb simultaneously lit above her head.

Ben moved faster than 1/400 of a second could freeze apparently.

KC gets a higher shutter speed accordingly.

As we descended into the shade, and hence put our cameras away, we turned up the throttle. Time to ski and time to stop taking pictures! Looking north before we made schuss though I was pleased to lay eyes on a few more spine high points to look forward to over the coming months. Can’t wait!

Thanks for checking out FIS! Look for a SPAM from this outing shortly!
