It is a winter that at least doesn’t make me too bummed to have so much work through February…and I would rather it be cold and sunny than have endless repeated R*&n events midwinter. We better do the snow dance!! And earn some turns in those stashes in the meantime…

As I expressed to a few people this summer that this really looked like a year of cold suppression. Deep arctic highs and southern stream energy, while good for East COAST snow isn’t great for Eastern Mountain synoptic snowstorms. The energy is all suppressed to the S/E. While it certainly hasn’t been a bad year until we start to see a retreat of the power of the arctic highs (usually begins around mid feb) will we get into the more synoptic snow threats.

Until then we’ll prob have to rely on smaller systems and mesoscale effects – like wraparound/upslope and lake enhancement.

So…yea….

Thanks for the update. Interesting weather, or lack thereof, so far this year up north. can’t wait for some big snowy storms…

The older Jaks had top sheet issues. My old bulldog ones would peel at the tail…Try gluing them. Justin-woods chopped his Jak tails off, which is a more radical solution.

The topsheet issues on mine worked out pretty sweet–for two seasons, I just returned em under warranty at the end of the season and got new pairs for the next year. So one ski purchase= 3 pairs,

You’re excused. The only reason you can check out of the Hotel Cali—-I mean the Famous Internet Skiers weather department is for powder chokeage. Glad your back man. Despite whatever you see in them-thar models, I believe you brought the snow back with you.

Thanks Lionel. I’ve been watching my FIS feed hoping you’d check in. I’m with Ben … not exactly what I wanted to hear, but appreciate the info.

Glad to hear LCC worked out for you.

As far as Karhu … when they were really Karhu, those guys would stand behind stuff like North Face. Not sure how the new K2 owners will handle. Sounds like you’ve soured on Karhu anyway.
