Kristin schusses some powder snow in a low elevation hardwood forest in Vermont. The snow from the January 12 storm (see pics of skiing that storm here) has been affected by the winds at higher elevations, but down low it has remained largely unconsolidated. Although base depths can be a problem, and snow snakes are still lurking here and there, the snow surfaces are sublime. It’s time to ski powder!
